Melaleuca Leucadendra is native to south east Asia and Australia. It is an evergreen tree commonly known as the Cajuput Tree or Weeping Ti Tree growing up to 20 meters tall. Cajuput Tree leaves are aromatic and the trunk has a thick spongy exfoliating bark. Other important members of the Malaleuca species is Malaleuca Arternifolia, common name Ti Tree, from which Tea Tree oil is derived, and Melaleuca Viridiflora from which Niaouli oil is derived.

Cajuput leaves have traditionally been used by Aborigines for medicinal purposes.

Cajuput is an essential ingredient of Tiger Balm.
