Eugenia Caryophyllata is native to Indonesia and is cultivated in tropical climes worldwide. It is an evergreen tree commonly known as Cloves growing up to 20 meters tall. Clove tree flowers are harvested while still in bud and up to 2 cm long.

The dried Clove flower bud is a highly aromatic spice which has been used in Asian cuisine, Indian Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine for thousands of years. Clove buds are also an important incense and essential oil ingredient.
